Class Interruption

What a day, what a day. I know it happened going on three hours ago but I am still in shock. I can't believe something like that could happen so close. I mean, I have watched the news and it seems like crime always happens somewhere far off, never where I am. All day long I had this uneasy feeling, call it intuition. If I was asked what I was feeling, this experience would have been the last thing to cross my mind. I was thinking though, after all of these school shootings that I have watched, that this campus, both campuses are really not that safe if you really think about it. On the north campus, anyone can walk into the building, and also if something happened someone would have to go to all the doors and individual lock them. What we need is an automatic locking system. We need intercoms, we need professors to allow students to have phones on, and we need that every student sign up for the DPS message service. Even though today it seems like today it didn't help much because i didn't get a text message about what happened until after I was already out of the building. We definitely need to take in consideration some real safety methods, we need to know what to do in the times of crisis.

Thank you to Professor Kilgore for your quick thinking of the baracade on the door. Just think think this all would have been avoided if there was no class. lol Just trying to find the silver lining in the cloud.
